4.50.240 Sales Tax Exemption For Residents Sixty-Five(65) Years of Age

Any person sixty-five (65) years of age or older who is a permanent Borough resident and qualifies for the State of Alaska permanent fund dividend, can apply for a sales tax exemption card. Senior citizens are exempt from sales taxes in the Ketchikan Gateway Borough and the City of Ketchikan for purchases of items for use by themselves and their spouses. Applications can be filled out in advance, but the card can only be issued in person at the Borough offices:
