Ketchikan is fortunate to have many beautiful parks for its citizens to enjoy on a regular basis.Adopt-A-Park is a volunteer program that provides opportunities for groups and individuals to assist in the beautification of the Ketchikan Gateway Borough’s parks. It has been demonstrated in other cities with this type of program that there is a significant increase in civic participation and pride as well as a decrease in vandalism and pollution. This program welcomes individuals and volunteer groups from businesses, schools, church groups, seniors, and youth groups to invest in the community.Adopting organizations and individuals will work in conjunction with the Borough Public Works and Parks & Recreation departments in maintaining and beautifying their adopted park. The Borough will recognize the efforts of these individuals and organizations by placing a sign at their respective adopted park.Should your group, club, or organization be interested in adopting a park, contact the Parks & Recreation Department Director, Wendy Mackie at 225-9579.
We look forward to hearing from you! Many hands make light work.
