Beaches & Trails Maintained by KGB Public Works Department

As an exercise of the Borough's areawide recreation powers, the Public Works Department maintains and performs capital improvements of outdoor areas. The Borough also keeps a Recreation Map (PDF) depicting recreation resources throughout the Borough, including those maintained by the City of Ketchikan, USFS, and State of Alaska Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation.

The Ketchikan Gateway Borough is currently conducting master planning for the trails under its ownership or maintenance, and seeking to identify improvements or opportunities for future trails and served activities.  The Public Review DRAFT Trails Master Plan is available for public review and comment.  Please use the survey at Ketchikan Gateway Borough Trails Master Plan Survey to comment on the preliminary findings.
