USCG Active Shooter Drill Exercise

The USCG and partner agencies are conducting a full-scale active shooter exercise on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the AMHS Ferry Terminal in Ketchikan.

 

Expect large numbers of public safety personnel, equipment, sirens and simulated gunfire. This is a test of staff and equipment and will not pose a threat to the public. The public and media will not be allowed near the terminal during the exercise. 

 

The exercise will include transport of simulated patients to an area outside the hospital. 

 

Normal community and emergency response operations will occur during the event. This exercise will not impact operations at the hospital, will not impact any emergency response for the community including Fire, EMS, and Police services, and will not impact Airport Ferry operations.
