The Ketchikan Gateway Borough and the City of Ketchikan are currently transitioning from Nixle to Everbridge, a more advanced emergency notification system designed to keep our community informed and safe.

Everbridge allows us to send critical alerts by phone, text message, and email, ensuring you receive important information wherever you are. Notifications may include severe weather warnings, natural disasters, public safety updates, road closures, or other urgent community information.

During this transition period, some alerts may still be issued through Nixle until the full move to Everbridge is complete. We encourage all residents to sign up for Everbridge now to ensure you continue receiving timely and reliable emergency messages.

How to Sign Up for Everbridge

Signing up for Everbridge only takes a few minutes and ensures you receive important alerts as soon as they are issued. This section will guide you step-by-step through the registration process so you can choose how and where you receive notifications.

Follow the instructions below to create your account. 

Start here: https://member.everbridge.net/76486388219969/login

1. Click the link above to open the login page for our Everbridge portal. The page should look like the example shown below.

2. Scroll down to the login box pictured below, then click the blue Sign Up button at the bottom.

3. On the sign-up page (pictured below), complete all fields marked with a red asterisk. Required information includes your first and last name, a desired username, and at least one contact method (phone number or email). Providing your location is optional but recommended, as it helps us send you the most accurate alerts for your area. Once complete, check the "I accept terms of use" box and then click create account.

4. Complete your profile for the Ketchikan Notification System by entering your first and last name and selecting your preferred contact methods. When you’re finished, click Save and Continue to move to the next step.

5. Next you will be prompted to add static locations if you choose. This step is optional. Static locations are places where you spend significant time, such as your workplace or a family member’s home. Adding these helps ensure you receive location-specific alerts for each location you add.

6. You will then be prompted to subscribe to community groups. Click the drop-down arrow next to Neighborhoods to select the areas where you’d like to receive alerts. Once you’ve made your selections, click Save & Continue to proceed.

7. Review all the information you have entered to ensure it is correct. If you need to make changes, click the blue title of the section you want to edit. Once everything looks accurate, click Finish at the bottom of the page to complete your sign-up.

8. Congratulations! You’ve successfully completed the Everbridge sign-up process and reached your home page. From here, you can update your information anytime to ensure you continue receiving the most relevant alerts for you.
