Everbridge is the emergency alert system used by the Ketchikan Gateway Borough, City of Ketchikan, City of Saxman, and KGBSD to send time-sensitive notifications to the community. Alerts may include emergency information, public safety updates, service disruptions, and other critical notices.

2. How do I sign up for Everbridge alerts?


Residents can sign up by visiting the Borough’s Everbridge registration page here and creating a user profile. You can choose how you receive alerts and which types of notifications you want to receive.

3. What if I am having trouble signing up?

4. Do I need to sign up if I already received Nixle alerts in the past?


Yes. Everbridge requires users to register in the system to receive notifications. If you were previously enrolled in to receive our alerts, you will need to sign up for Everbridge to continue receiving alerts.

5. Why is the Borough using Everbridge?


Everbridge allows the Borough to send faster, more reliable notifications across multiple platforms, including text message, phone call, email, and mobile app notifications. It improves our ability to reach residents during emergencies and significant community events.

6. What types of alerts will I receive?

7. Is Everbridge only for emergencies?


No. While Everbridge is primarily used for emergencies, it may also be used for important non-emergency notifications that require timely public awareness.

Yes. Everbridge is a free service for residents and community members.

9. What contact information should I provide when signing up?


You may provide: Your cell phone, home, or business number as well as your email address.

10. Can I choose how I receive alerts?


Yes. You can select your preferred alert methods, such as text message, phone call, or email, and update your preferences at any time.

11. Can I update or remove my information later?


Yes. You can log into your Everbridge account at any time to update your contact information, notification preferences, or unsubscribe.

12. Will my information be shared?


No. Your personal information is used only for emergency and official communications through Everbridge and is not shared or sold.

13. How will I know if an alert is from the Borough?


Everbridge messages sent by the Borough will clearly identify the Ketchikan Gateway Borough as the sender.

14. What should I do if I receive an alert?
