Parks Maintained by KGB Public Works Department
The Public Works Department exercises areawide recreation powers through gardening and beautification, facilities maintenance, and capital improvements throughout the Borough's parks. The Borough Recreation Map (PDF) depicts recreation resources throughout the Borough, including those maintained by the City of Ketchikan, USFS, and State of Alaska Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation.

Pursuant to the 2023 PARKS AND PLAYGROUNDS MASTER PLAN by Corvus Design, the Ketchikan Gateway Borough is currently seeking public feedback on a variety of parks and playground conceptual projects, intended to be constructed over the next 5-10 years.
The projects under consideration include:
- Rotary Beach Improvements
- South Point Higgins Beach Improvements
- Mountain Point Beach Improvement
- Lund Street Playground Replacement
- Forest Park Playground Construction
Each presented concept has diverse features which may be combined differently than presented based on public preference.
Drawings will be displayed publicly at the Gateway Recreation Center on April 13, 2024, from 8:30am - 2:00pm: the public is invited to provide feedback in person or to e-mail address publicworks@kgbak.us.
